COMFORT CONTAINERS

2024

This project explores the combination of comfort and discomfort by immersing oneself in unconventional environments during music production. By creating music in spaces that fall outside traditional settings, it seeks to disrupt the ordinary and activate creativity in unexpected ways. This approach examines how these unique environments influence the artist and how, in turn, the creative activities redefine the spaces themselves. The goal is not just to confront discomfort but to understand how engaging with such spaces can offer new perspectives and possibilities for artistic exploration, ultimately enriching the creative process.

This exploration creates four zines, each focused on places or experiences that evoke comfort. Rather than directly digitising these tactile works, the zines are shown in real-life scenarios to preserve their emotional depth, accompanied by soundscapes that mirror their themes. Working in atypical environments reshapes both the spaces and the creative outcomes, offering a multi-sensory experience that redefines how we engage with art, physically and digitally.
