MIRROR OF MY NIGHTLIFE
2024
This publication is a multimedia visualisation of my practice, a sensory dialogue between sound, visuals, and materiality. It is a documentation of the transient nature of my nightlife scene, not through a linear narrative but as a fragmented collage of constant moments, objects, and reflections. These elements act as markers and connections, visualising the interplay between personal experience and collective club culture. Collecting and capturing was intuitive, allowing the content to guide its assembly and naturally reflect the narrative. By embracing spontaneity, I aimed to mirror the organic rhythms of the spaces and communities I navigate as a DJ and producer. Each piece resonates beyond its surface, tied to memory, movement, and meaning.
This project is not solely a photobook, journal, or scrapbook but a designed object, a physical manifesto of my practice. Its materiality is as deliberate as its content, bridging the gap between sound and touch, digital and tangible. Through this work, I have come to value documentation not as an archival act but as a generative one. By translating my musical practice into a visual and physical form, I have explored new dimensions of expression, reflecting on how music shapes and is shaped by its surrounding context. Music possesses the profound power to connect people, spaces, and emotions. It is a language that transcends the immediate, leaving traces in unexpected places.
